Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of joining the team at Fingerprint Sound for a panel at Saga: The Festival of Stories. We dove into a subject I’m truly passionate about:
The role of music in video games is a powerful storytelling and value-enhancing tool.
Music in games is often overlooked as mere background noise, but it’s so much more. It shapes the atmosphere, deepens emotional engagement, supports narrative arcs, and even influences how players interact with the game world. At Fingerprint Sound, we work with this mindset every day.
Whether I’m composing for adaptive game mechanics or cinematic cutscenes, my goal is always to reinforce the experience and add emotional weight through music. Being part of this panel was a great chance to reflect, share ideas, and connect with fellow creators who understand the deep connection between music and storytelling.
Thanks to the Saga Festival for creating a space where these conversations can happen—and to everyone who came by to listen, ask questions, and geek out with us about game audio!
